Attorney Kiara Taite

Ms. Taite was raised in and currently resides in Pascagoula, MS. She graduated from Pascagoula High School in 2007 and went on to complete both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Sociology at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. Realizing that she wanted to use her skills and knowledge to help people, particularly people from African-American and other underserved communities, in ways that empowered them and provided justice, Ms. Taite signed up for law school and obtained a Juris Doctorate and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA in April 2016.

After passing the Mississippi Bar Exam and becoming a licensed attorney in Fall 2016, for five years, Ms. Taite worked for underserved communities, providing legal representation for those in need of estate planning advice and help with Wills and Powers of Attorney, seeking assistance with expunging their criminal background records, facing foreclosure and evictions, experiencing housing discrimination, and seeking to redevelop their communities and provide affordable housing.

Outside of her work life, Ms. Taite loves to spend time with her young daughter, family, and friends. She is a parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Pascagoula and has been active in civic and political life in Jackson County, Mississippi.
